
Lima, Arequipa, Puno, Cuzco, Amazon, Ica, Nazca, Paracas - 18 Days Tour
Day 1.
Welcome to Lima, the bustling colonial capital city of Peru. Referred to by the Spanish as the City of the Kings it was founded in the 16th Century. Private transfer to your hotel.
Day 2.
Today we will explore Lima, admire Archaeological Pre-Inca sites, the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) the Cathedral and other significant buildings.
Day 3.
Fly from Lima to Arequipa, at an altitude of 2,380 meters, it’s a great place to start acclimatising to the high altitudes.
Day 4.
Your morning includes a tour of the Santa Catalina Monastery, Plaza de Armas and views of the Cathedral. Continue to the hillside suburb of Yanahuara with its stunning views back over the city.
Day 5.
Pass close by volcanoes as you head out of the city and into the National Park Pampa Salinas, home to Vicuñas, the national animal of Peru. Travel over the 5,000m pass and down into the Colca Valley. This afternoon take an optional walk or soak in the Natural hot springs.
Day 6.
An Early start today will be rewarded with views of Condors in the Colca Canyon. Then after Lunch travel by bus across the Altiplano to the city of Puno, famous for its colourful festivals, and our departure point to visit Lake Titicaca, the worlds highest navigatable lake.
Day 7.
Today’s tour of lake Titicaca will take you to Taquile Island where a short walk up to the main plaza will give you a glimpse of life on the island and also a great view while you enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. On the return trip to Puno, stop at the fascinating Floating Reed Islands.
Day 8.
Take a full day tour by bus from Puno to Cuzco, stopping along the way at many archaeological sites. In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Cuzco, the Capital city of the Incan Empire.
Day 9.
What better way to explore this ancient city than with a Private guided tour? See all of the main sites both in and around the city with out the crowds.
Day 10.
Travel by private bus to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit a local South American camel farm, which will inform you about the different varieties in Peru. Spend some time, and maybe a little money at the Local Pisac Markets before visiting the nearby ruins. Lunch is provided before a visit a local Inca Brewery. Later in the afternoon, board the train to Aguas Callientes, the small town at the bottom of Machu Picchu, and our overnight stop.
Day 11.
Start early to have the best picture of the Main Attraction in Peru, Machu Picchu. You will have plenty of time before and after your guided tour for photos. Return to Cuzco.
Day 12.
Free day for exploring, shopping or just relax.
Day 13.
A morning flight will take you out of the mountains and down into the Amazon Jungle. A boat ride on the Amazon River will then take you to our Eco-friendly Lodge.
Day 14.
Today take a choice of a number of optional walking or boat trips into the jungle to view numerous species of birds, monkeys, snakes and spiders.
Day 15.
After breakfast, travel by boat back down river to the airport, then fly back to Lima. Once you arrive, board a bus down to Ica, in the southern desert.
Day 16.
Today is your opportunity to fly over the Mysterious Nazca Lines! Later in the afternoon board dune buggies and head into the nearby desert for an action packed ride and one of the most beautiful sunsets you will see.
Day 17.
On route back to Lima, you will stop at Paracas National Reserve for a short boat ride to the Ballestas Islands, famous for its large Bird life and seal population. Return back to Lima in the mid afternoon and take the opportunity to pick up those last minute souvenirs.
Day 18.
Private transfer from the Hotel to the Airport.
